Dual Credit for the Fall 2017

The deadline to register for class is August 11, 2017.

Mrs. Mirashi (Rivers) and Mrs Senlik will be on campus on Monday, August 7th to start meeting with students and to sign enrollment forms for those that are eligible. Students are responsible for turning the Dual Credit High School Enrollment form to the Dual Credit Office at Mountain View College after getting their counselor's approval (you can find the address and other information below). If you registered for the fall at the end of the semester last year, you do not need to submit any new forms unless you are adding additional courses.

4849 W. Illinois Ave. Dallas, TX 75211

Office Number- recently changed: W10 (same building, but in the basement)

Dual Credit Tele: (214) 860-8656

Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Friday: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

In order to help better prepare students for the high demands of pursuing college credits while in high school, Counselors will be looking over the college hours requested by students, student’s grades, and PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores that are on file before signing any enrollment forms. It is also important for every student to understand that Dual Credit grades are college grades and will follow the student throughout their entire college career.

Steps to enroll for Dual Credit:

  • Apply to Mountain View and view their checklist here Submit all necessary paperwork: official transcript, meningitis records, etc.

  • Successfully complete the TSI Reading, Writing and Math (see your counselor if you have failed either Reading and Writing, or Math to see what classes you might be eligible to take Check the course catalog for Fall 2017 here

  • Before registering for any class, I always recommend students use RateMyProfessor before registering for a class.

  • Also be aware of all critical dates for every campus you register for (campuses have different drop dates!) Inform your College Counselor that you would like to drop a class if needed and they will help you learn the process. If you fail to correctly drop a class it will result in whatever grade you have earned and will be unable to be removed from both high school and college transcripts.
